Christina Stead (* 17. Juli 1902, Rockdale (Australien); † 31. März 1983, Sydney) war eine australische Schriftstellerin, die im Sommer 1930 die Salzburger Festspiele besucht und 1932 ihr erstes, 1934 veröffentlichtes Buch, den Erzählungenzyklus "Salzburg Tales" verfasst hat, deren Rahmenhandlungen, die Salzburger Festspiele sowie dessen Publikum bilden.
